Description: | Children need to be agentic of their own development and learning. This paper attempted to conceptualize the meaning of children’s agency, the role it plays in learning and development, and its developmental pathways. Furthermore, examining associated factors in the development of agency, it then expounded mechanism for fostering development of children’s agency. Reports from previous studies, relevant secondary data, and critical reflections on existing practices were synthesized to address the objectives and delineate future directions. |
