Title: Parenting in Africa: Voices of African Children
    Authors: African Child Policy Forum
    Keywords: Research Report
    Issue Date: 2011
    Publisher: African Child Policy Forum
Abstract: The purpose was to provide a platform for children across Africa to discuss parenting by sharing real-life experiences about how they interact with their parents and caregivers in their environments.
Description: This paper has created a forum for children from all across Africa to discuss parenting by presenting firsthand accounts of how they interact with their parents and caregivers in their daily lives. It emphasized the need of talking to children, informing them about what is going on in their families and communities, and allowing them to participate in important decisions that influence their lives. It is anticipated that these experiences will reawaken the urgent need to meaningfully involve children in their homes, because every parent wants their children to grow up to be responsible individuals who achieve their full potential.
