Abstract: | The findings of the studies were intended to inform the Third Policy Conference on the African Child, which was held from May 12-13, 2008 at the UN Conference Center in Addis Ababa under the theme of child poverty. |
Description: | XV. The study was based on the concept that data and information influence policy, therefore high-quality data and easy access to relevant evidence concerning successful interventions are essential for policy creation. The first step toward influencing policy and changing it for the better is to improve statistics data and analysis. In the policy advocacy arena, conducting studies to expand the knowledge base on an issue and communicating the results as far as feasible are critical. As a result, the African Child Policy Forum began doing desk-based research on child poverty and policy experiences in a number of African nations. |
