| Abstract: | The purpose of the audio materials is to provide children the context in which they learn through diverse play activities and obtain holistic development. |
| Description: | In the beginning of the episode, the children are at the shop of Mama Mango who arrives suddenly and greets the children. The children ask Mama Mango whether she is busy today. She replied ‘no’ and asks them why? The children reply that they want her to tell them a story. Mama Mango responds to children’s request by saying that she does not have time for story but she wants to assist them doing an interesting play activity which is about telling a reason. She informs the children that she is going to order them to do something. She tells them that they have to reply “Yes, I can because …’ if they can do it or “No, I cannot because….” If they cannot do it. The children exercise telling a reason why they can do something and why they cannot do it. The episode contains activities that help children learn how to give reasons for their actions. The children have the opportunity to exercise telling the reason why they can do and cannot do something through playful interactions with each other. It is a good context that reflects how learning through play is engaging and joyful for children. Storytelling, similar to the other episodes, is a pivotal element of this episode and it portrays how children can tell reasons for doing and not doing something. |
