Abstract: The objective of the billboard was to assist youngsters in developing social skills for their personal development before entering formal schooling through their parents.
Description: The Emergency Response Mechanism (PM ERM) was introduced by the PlayMatters project (2020–2026) in May 2022 to address the effects of conflict in Ethiopia's northern regions. 177,405 children were reached by the multi-sectoral activities that PM ERM funded 12 partners, including Plan International and IRC to deliver in 201 schools located in Afar, Amhara, and Benishangul-Gumuz between September 2022 and September 2023. Learning through Play (LtP) was adapted by PlayMatters as an educational approach to enhance teaching and learning practices. Five sites in the Amhara region were selected for investigation to understand the proper implementation of LtP in schools. Findings showed teachers creating supportive environments and using student-centered techniques, though structural barriers and a need for more training persist.
