Abstract: | The purpose of this training manual isto train practitioners who are working with children. After having trained with this manual, the practitioners will have the knowledge and skills to: • Monitor the development of children since birth, recognize risk factors for poor development from pregnancy to 5 years, and take appropriate action. • Prioritize and counsel caregivers on responsive care and early learning activities (for example, playing and talking with children appropriately) to promote child development. • Share messages on care for child development at preventive services starting in pregnancy and promote playbox sessions in health facility waiting rooms and pediatric wards |
Description: | This material is a training manual adapted and developed by a panel of experts from Ministry of health and other institutions. The manual is a 4-day training which focuses on responsive care and play, early learning, developmental domains, common risks of child development, brain development, counseling, developmental monitoring, play materials, recording, analyzing and reporting child development, etc. |
